Dato’ Dr Hj Rusly Bin Abdullah is the
founder of Stimulatherapy. Stimulatherapy has become one of the listed
complimentary modalities with Ministry of Health Malaysia through its
membership in FCNMAM. He prides himself on his ability to invent a new
combination of Javanese massage with TCM’s Body Meridian Theory (Traditional
Chinese Medicines). In his daily clinical practice, he would also employ some
of acupressure’s techniques and sequences on his patient. He is well versed in
Javanese massage techniques and Javanese garden herbs and spices. Dato’ Rusly
believes in tailoring a massage towards the individual needs of each patient by
employing multiple modalities to get the best results possible.
Dato’ Dr Rusly graduated from
University of Science, Malaysia in 1982 and National University of Malaysia
1990. In 2004 he completed a research base thesis on Nusantara Massage and
submitted to The Open International University for Complimentary Medicines,
Colombo Sri Lanka. 1n 2005 he was admitted a Doctorate degree in complementary
medicines by OIUCM.
Dato’ Rusly involvement in massage
started back in 1972 when he was 14 years old. He was the only male masseur in
his grandmother’s Pondok Tombo Rogo in Ijok, Kuala Selangor. 1986, he opened
his own massage business in Johor Bahru. There he worked with many people from
infants to the elderly. Some of the common problems he worked on with his
patients were migraine, headaches, mental stress, muscle tension, sinus, sports
injuries, and arthritis. With his nurturing touch, he has had thousands
of happy, satisfied clients over the years, many of whom she still keeps in
touch with to this day. In 1989, he relocated to Kuala Lumpur and opened Li
Massage and Training Centre which later known as Institut Teknologi Kulinari
Anjung Utara (ITKAU).
Dato’ Rusly’s advice to his student is; To succeed as a massage therapist and massage service centre owner, you will need physical strength, mobility, and good interpersonal, communication, listening and critical thinking skills.
